Who is Pacquiao's most worthy opponent?

Retired pound for pound king Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr. thinks he has nothing left to prove.

As "the Pacman" exterminates, Pretty Boy needs to come out from his retirement and show the lights what he's made of.

Mayweather's attempted to steal the spotlight away from Pacquaio-Hatton fight by announcing his return to ring, but the devastating knockout which sends Hatton on the floor on that megafight is unarguably a very powerful message.

Pacquiao's famed left hand punch crushed Hatton's rock-solid legacy and shocked the audience both inside the Grand Garden Arena and the millions of pay-per-view viewers around the world get to thinking on a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight for the best pound-for-pound crown.

With one perfect punch, "the Pacman” flattened Hatton, cemented his already rock-solid legacy, and made the capacity crowd inside the Grand Garden Arena and boxing fans get to thinking of a pound-for-pound champion matchup.

"If he wins tonight, don't be all shocked like, 'Oh, ah, he done this, he done that,'" said Mayweather (39-0, 25 KOs), Floyd announced just hours before the Pacquiao-Hatton bout that he will be fighting Juan Marquez on September 19, 2009 at MGM Grand.

"Cause guess what? I beat Hatton when he was undefeated. Pacquiao beat Oscar, it don't matter. Going down to 147 pounds was too much for De La Hoya, he was dead after the first round. I also think that Marquez beat him twice. When you talk boxing, you talk Floyd Mayweather."

Top Rank CEO Bob Arum thinks otherwise.

"You are goind to be the greatest fighter that ever lived," Arum telling Pacquiao after the fight.

Pacquiao will have yet more to prove by fighting legendary and great boxers such as Sugar Shane Mosley, a third Juan Manuel Marquez fight, and of course, Floyd Mayweather Jr.

A win via split decision with these fighters would not satisfy on earning a title such as the greatest fighter who ever lived.

"The Pacman" needs a devastating victory over these fighters by such as the Hatton fight. He however added to his legacy the Ring Magazine and IBO Junior welterweight title.

Pacquiao's current belt ties with Sugar Ray Leonard as the only boxer to win titles in six weight divisions. Since IBO is considered as minor title, he is currently tied with Floyd Mayweather Jr., Oscar de la Hoya, Sugar Ray Leonard for five major titles in fight weight divisions.

The boxing community would be eager to watch a fight between the pound for pound kings. "If that's what Mayweather is looking for, he'll find it. If he wants a piece of the little Filipino, just be my guest" Arum said.

Renowned boxing coach Freddie Roach questioned Mayweather's comeback timing which is announced just hours before the fight.

"Mayweather could have fought Manny Pacquiao, he just needed to wait one more day, I think he's scared of Manny. He chose Marquez and we're not just going to wait around, I like to keep Manny busy. If Miguel Cotto wants to come down a few pounds, if Shane Mosley wants to come down a few pounds, we can make that happen." Roach said.

Veteran welterweight champion Sugar Shane Mosley has expressed desire to fight even before the Pacquiao-Hatton fight.

Pacquiao's devastating left hand didn't scare off this veteran boxer as much as Hatton was sent into sleep.

Mosley said, "I like to put my skills to the test, I started with Antonio Margarito and now if I had the chance to fight Pacquiao that would be great. I tell him in person, let's do it at 147. You want the welterweight title, let's do it and see what happens."

Mosley's tempting offer to Pacquiao by having his WBA Welterweight on the line and even willing to fight the Pacman at 140 is not an easy offer to refuse.

But for the mean time Pacquiao is most probably looking on the easier fighter. Mosley is a veteran champion who was defeated by Miguel Cotto. Yet Mosley knocked out Antonio Margarito, who is the only fighter who defeated Miguel Cotto.

As Pacquiao's promoter, I would like to see my boxer fighting easier opponents with titles and generating large PPV's. Mayweather has no title. Either Mosley and Cotto would generate millions of PPV's, but Mosley has more experience, power and skills.

"As a fan, I'd like to see him fight Mosley. The Mayweather fight may not happen because we don't want to wait for him. Mosley is more dangerous, they both like to fight and his power is dangerous. But Manny is the best, anyone in the world, he can beat all of them," Roach said.

Roach added "I wouldn't oppose to a third fight with Marquez,if he were to defeat Mayweather. I'd love to see that happen, but it most likely won't."

However, Freddie would only want Pacquiao to have two more fights which reduces the chances of having a Pacquiao-Mayweather megafight.

As Pacquiao is showing his political intent to pursue in his native land Philippines, Mayweather would have all the roam in the boxing arena to regard himself as the best.

Mayweather said, “I am the king and no one has taken my crown. Some day someone might shut my mouth, but right now I am going to talk.”
