Money Mayweather thinks Pacquiao win over Cotto

Former Pound for pound king Mayweather Jr. believes WBO welterweight champion Cotto is a weaker opponent compared to boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao.

Mayweather said that the Puerti Rican's mental toughness is washed up with the punishment he endured in his fight against Mexican Antonio Margarito last year.

Cotto was knocked out by Margarito in the 11th round of their grueling bout last July 2008 which was his first lost in 32 fights.

Mayweather said," I think after the Margarito fight, mentally, Cotto is not the same. You can never say waht can hapen in the sport of boxing, but I think Pacquiao is a quick starter, and if i had to lean toward a fighter, I would say Pacquiao."

Floyd Mayweather Jr. retired undeafeted last year with a WBC SuperWelterweight Title which he won over Oscar de la Hoya's fight, the only split decision in his career. He also left behind the prestigious Pound for Pound King title, a throne which Manny Pacquiao succeeded. Just hours before the fight of Pacquiao against Ricky Hatton, "Money" Mayweather announced that he will be fighting Juan Manuel Marquez in July, which was eventually postponed for a Septermber bout due to his rib injury during sparring bouts. Speculation then raise in the boxing community the Mayweather is avoiding Pacquiao, in which he got the credibility of fighting weaker figheters and avoiding stronger fighter such as Pacquiao, Cotto, Margarito, & Sugar Shane Mosley.

Pacquiao is however scheduled to fight against Cotto in November for a catchweight WBC Diamond Title Fight. Both parties have agreed a few weeks after the Cotto's defense against Joshua Clottey last June 13. Cotto won over a split-decision victory and had his face make-over via clottey's powerful blows.

Yet though, Mayweahter thinks Clottey should have won that title against Cotto.

"I thought Cotto lost his last fight,"Mayweather said. "It was close, but I thought he lost."
